Recreation Soccer

Avon Soccer League Association (ASLA) Recreation program is open to all youth residing in or attending school in Avon.  Recreational soccer is a non-competitive soccer league open to children age three and up.  Games, about 45 minutes in duration, are held typically on Saturdays but may also be held in the evening on Thursdays or Fridays and are played at Schwartz or Northgate Parks.  Also, most teams hold a practice once per week. 

Parents are encouraged to volunteer their time in a variety of ways including: coaching, working at the snack bar, helping with field preparation, becoming a member of the board or more.  The success of our league is 100% dependent upon parental involvement.

The soccer season consists of fall and spring sessions at a cost of $80 per player (exception for U4-cost is $50).  Family discounts may apply.  Jerseys are additional and may be purchased at the concessions stand at Schwartz Park. Players are not permitted to register for fall season only.  During winter sign-ups, players are permitted to register for spring season only at a cost of $50 per player (exception for U4-cost is $30).

Open registration is as follows:

Fall/Spring Season: The season begins the last weekends of both April and August and the duration of each is 8 weeks.  Registration timeline: May 1- June 30.  Late registration MAY be permitted, additional fees will apply.

Spring Season Only: Spring season starts in early April & runs through the first weekend in June. Fall season starts in late August & runs through mid/late October.  Teams typically start practicing up-to 2 weeks before the start of the season. Don't expect to be contacted much before that about the placement of your child on a team.

Travel Soccer       

ASLA Travel Soccer is a competitive program.  It is offered to players age eight and up.  Home  games may be held at Schwartz or Northgate Parks.  Away games may be held in a variety of locations most within a 10-30 minute commute.

In order to play travel soccer, players must register early in the open registration process, pay the $145 registration  and travel fees.  Players are required to participate in try-outs regardless of past participation.  Try-outs are held in May for the following fall/spring season.  All players must bring a copy of their birth certificate and a school picture.
